ARTrsen Founding Story
Hello! I am Regina Sën, the heart song behind ARTrsen. On the other side of a sixteen-year ordeal, an ever-present song has replaced the accounting skills that were lost to me: sending me off in a new direction, on a new journey, of which ARTrsen is a part!
This journey has been deeply impacted by a stranger, a doctor who, while recovering from a terrible case of Covid, reached out to heal me from the aftereffects of Lyme disease from clear across the world! Not for profit, but to support the love she saw in my art and poetry on a shared platform. Her groundbreaking approach to healing brought energy, vitality, and light back into my life after years of struggle. Her connection and care inspired an ever present heart song in poetry on the other side of grief and pain.
Before this experience, I met someone at our local pharmacy who seemed always to be filled with rhythm and a song. Intrigued, one day, I asked him about it. He told me that he'd been like this, "Ever Since I can Remember!" We learned that we shared a common love for Bob Marley's music. (my favorite artist!) After which, he said, "If you love Bob, you'll like Rita (his wife) even more!"
I looked into her music and one of her songs, filled my soul. It was the first heart song that I discovered in music. The rythm, the lyrics, I felt it all. The inspiration for her song comes from a beautiful commitment in Kenyan Culture, Harambee, meaning, "We all pull together," representing an unwritten law of generosity. Regardless of class, ethnic group, or religious background, we will assist anyone in need. In the world of ARTrsen, we embrace nationality, gender, and sexual orientation in the same spirit!
Every heart has a journey, a whole world within them, and a song just waiting to be sung.
